Host

“Burn the Boats So U Can Start Building Bridges”

Wil E.’s story begins in Oak Cliff, Texas—where culture, rhythm, and resilience collide. It was at just 10 years old, playing drums at Living Testimony Baptist Church, that his musical foundation was formed. What started in the pews quickly evolved into purpose, and by the age of 14, Wil E. had already stepped into the world as a professional musician—an early sign of a journey defined by talent, discipline, and vision.

At Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Wil E. didn’t just participate—he led. As a two-year Drum Major, he commanded the field with precision and presence, earning recognition as one of the premier young musical talents in the state of Texas. His ability to merge technical excellence with emotional expression set him apart, signaling that his path would extend far beyond the band field.

That path led him to Texas A&M University–College Station, where he deepened his understanding of people and society, earning degrees in Sociology and Psychology. These disciplines would later shape not only his artistry, but his approach to leadership, storytelling, and community impact.

As a creative, Wil E. is both a musician and a literary voice. His work as a poet and author is captured in Invisible Tears Silent Joy, a reflection of life’s unspoken struggles and quiet triumphs. His artistic journey has also placed him on stages alongside an impressive list of talents, including Linny Nance, Jeannette Brantley, Roy Hargrove, Earl Harvin, Monteco, and Shai—each collaboration adding depth to his evolving narrative.

But it is life’s most difficult moments that helped define his deeper purpose. After the loss of his son at just six months old, Wil E. turned pain into purpose—emerging as a motivational speaker and mental health advocate committed to helping others navigate grief, healing, and resilience. Through his work with organizations such as March of Dimes and The Compassionate Friends, he has become a voice for those learning how to move forward while honoring what they’ve lost.

Wil E.’s vision extends beyond performance. As the founder of NuVision Strategies and Solutions LLC, he channels creativity into strategy, building brands and curating impactful events that bring ideas to life. His leadership in the arts community includes serving as the former Vice President of the DeSoto Cultural Arts Foundation and currently as an ambassador for the Business Council for the Arts—roles that reflect his commitment to elevating culture and creating access.

Before launching More Than 2 Min, Wil E. stepped into the civic arena as a candidate for DeSoto City Council, driven by a desire to be a voice for his community and to help shape its future. That same commitment to meaningful conversation and community connection now lives at the heart of his podcast, where stories are given space, voices are amplified, and impact is intentional.

Wil E. is more than a musician, more than a strategist, more than a storyteller—he is a bridge between art and action, using every platform he touches to inspire, connect, and create lasting change.
